Dear Friends:
God has once again opened the door for me to serve Him again at Word of Life Portugal; this will be my third time there. Our group of men from First Baptist Woodstock will be serving there from November eleventh through the twentieth. We are doing construction and maintenance projects, to include waterproofing the Missionary apartments, roof repair, painting, and adding entryways to the dorms. For me, I am needed to do some much needed upgrades and repairs to the phone and paging systems there at the camp.
I am going to be bold and ask for your help in a couple of ways. First, I need your prayers personally. Over this last year my business has been, like many, not very good, but I must proclaim that God has met our needs, so if you would pray that being away for ten days would not put further pressure on our finances. Please also pray for the team as a whole: for travel and safety, as well as that He would redeem our time so we can accomplish all the planned projects. Normally each team member is asked for ten people to be prayer partners, however, I would like to ask everyone who receives this letter to partner with me and join in covering us in prayer during both our time there and in our preparations.
Secondly, the cost of this mission trip is $2,500 and I will need to raise every penny. If you are in a position to support me financially along with your prayers, I would appreciate that very much too. Each of us needs to raise our finances in a time of financial stress and job tensions. I am reminded of the teachings of Pastor Johnny when he preaches, “Pray, Go and Give.” Some can do all three, some only do two, however, we can all pray. Please remember me in your prayers as I prepare to go and trust God for the monies needed.
